SEC to Hold Compliance Outreach Seminar for New York-Based Investment Advisers and Investment Companies

The SEC's New York Regional Office (NYRO) will host a virtual compliance outreach seminar for investment advisers and investment companies in the New York area. The event will take place on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, beginning at 9:15 a.m. Eastern. The event is free and open for the public to attend. Registration is not required.

SEC Adopts Joint Data Standards Rules Under FDTA

On June 8th, the SEC approved rules that establish joint data standards under the Financial Data Transparency Act of 2022 (FDTA). The rulemaking establishes technical standards for data submitted to certain financial regulatory agencies, making financial data more accessible, uniform, and useful to the public. The joint data standards would make it easier for financial institutions to file reports across multiple agencies and help regulators carry out the SEC’s oversight functions with greater efficacy. New FERC Final Rule “Filing Process and Data Collection for the Electric Quarterly Report”

The FERC issued a new final rule on March 19, 2026 to update the filing process and data collection for the Electric Quarterly Report (EQR). Changes are designed to update data collection, improve data quality, increase market transparency, decrease costs, and streamline compliance for future changes.

Reminder: IFRS Accounting Taxonomy 2025 Remains Current for 2026 Reporting

In February 2026, the International Financial Reporting Standards Foundation (IFRS) announced that the IFRS Accounting Taxonomy 2025 would remain current for the 2026 reporting period as there have been no updates to the technology or content. Stakeholders should continue to use the IFRS Accounting Taxonomy 2025 when tagging financial information, in accordance with local jurisdictional filing requirements. SEC Cancels June 2026 EDGAR Release

On June 1st, the SEC canceled EDGAR software release 26.2, which was planned for June 15, 2026. Draft EDGAR Filer Manual revisions and draft Technical Specifications related to the release that previously was published on May 15th are no longer relevant and have been removed from the SEC’s site. SEC Staff to Hold Investor Advisory Committee Meeting

The SEC’s Investor Advisory Committee will hold an open meeting via webcast on the SEC’s site that will take place on Thursday, June 4, 2026, beginning at 10:00 a.m. ET. The meeting is free for the public to attend. The meeting will cover committee matters, including subcommittee reports and approval of previous meeting minutes.
