New Release (5.15c) for the GoFiler Family of Products

Version 5.15c of all applications in the GoFiler Suite has been released. This release corresponds to EDGAR 22.2.2 and contains support for the 2022 Q3 supplement to the US GAAP taxonomy as well as new features to paste HTML that contains XDX engrams and new options for the Send to EDGARLink Online function. Additional corrections and improvements were made to XDX processing.

SEC Announces XBRL Taxonomy Update

On August 15th, the SEC updated the EDGAR system to Release 22.2.2 which will now support the 2022Q3 supplemental US GAAP Financial Reporting Taxonomy and 2022Q3 supplemental SEC Reporting Taxonomy (SRT). The 2022Q3 supplements to the US GAAP Financial Reporting Taxonomy and SRT are comparable to supplements that the Financial Accounting Standards Board published on its website on August 2, 2022. SEC Announces Public Availability of Form 13F Data Sets

On August 2nd, the SEC announced that the Form 13F Data Sets are now available for download. The Form 13F Data Sets provide the securities holding information required of institutional investment managers under Section 13(f) of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934. The securities holding information is also made accessible to the public in structured Form 13F filings with the SEC. SEC Staff to Hold Open Meeting to Discuss Proposing Amendments to Form PF

CEF Tagging Guide Now Available for Download

In April 2020, the SEC adopted rules in its Release 33-10771 that revised the registration, communications, and offering processes for closed-end investment companies (CEFs) and business development companies (BDCs) under the Securities Act of 1933. In addition to introducing new XML-based Form 24F-2, CEF and BDC entities will now be required to tag financial reporting information in a structured data format in their submissions to the EDGAR system. New Release (5.15b) for the GoFiler Family of Products

Version 5.15b of all applications in the GoFiler Suite has been released. This release contains support for the VIP2022 taxonomy as well as corrections and improvements for XDX, iXBRL, and for Form ATS-N. Additional forms are now supported for the browser plug-in to automate EDGAR for Chrome, Firefox, and Edge.

FASB Releases ASU to Improve Fair Value Guidance for Equity Securities

On June 30th, the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) published an Accounting Standards Update (ASU) that improves financial reporting for investors and other financial statement users. The ASU is designed to enhance comparability of financial information for all reporting entities with investments in equity securities measured at fair value and are subject to contractual restrictions preventing the sale of those securities.
