SEC Publishes Current Draft for EDGAR Filer Manual

The SEC has released its draft of the EDGAR® Filer Manual, Volume II: “EDGAR Filing” (Version 73) to prepare issuers for potential updates to the EDGAR system scheduled to be introduced in EDGAR Release 25.1 on March 17, 2025. XBRL US to Host Webinar to Promote Readiness for New EDGAR Next Filer Management Dashboard

XBRL US will host a webinar to prepare filers to use the SEC’s new EDGAR Filer Management dashboard that will go live on March 24, 2025. The session will feature an overview of important deadlines, a “prep for enrollment” checklist, and technical demonstrations of both the bulk and manual enrollment process. SEC Announces Interim Release 25.0.1 for EDGAR System

On February 3rd, the EDGAR system was upgraded with interim release 25.0.1, and it now supports the 2024q3 version of the Fund (FND) taxonomy. The 2024q3 version of the FND taxonomy will now include the requisite update for compatibility with the 2024q3 version of the Open-End Fund (OEF) taxonomy enabling filers to use both taxonomies in one filing, and provide the elements for tagging disclosures related to the SEC’s rulemaking regarding enhanced prospectus disclosure requirements for terminology used in fund names. FASB Publishes Proposed Taxonomy Implementation Guides on Accounting Changes and Segments, Solicits Feedback

On January 27th, the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) issued two proposed Taxonomy Implementation Guides based on the 2025 GAAP Financial Reporting Taxonomy, which was made available in December 2024 pending SEC approval. These guides focus on the accounting changes and segment reporting following the adoption of Accounting Standards Update 2023-07 (ASU).
