XBRL US will present a webinar to discuss matters related to financial reporting for Special Purpose Acquisition Companies (SPACs). The one-hour event takes place Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at 3 p.m. Eastern. The session will feature a review of the final rule, a demonstration of XBRL tagging requirements for SPACs, and an overview of SPAC filings submitted to date.
In January 2024, the SEC adopted the final rule, Special Purpose Acquisition Companies, Shell Companies, and Projections, under which SPACs must prepare prospectus disclosures and financial information in Inline XBRL for IPOs and de-SPAC transactions beginning June 2025. The ruling required SPACs to begin preparing filings in structured, machine-readable, and standardized format.
