Version 6.4a of GoFiler has been released. This release corresponds to EDGAR 25.4. Corrections and improvements have been made to XDX and XBRL processing, including support for the SPAC 2025Q3 taxonomy. Additionally, the application Preferences dialog and the CSS Properties dialog have been updated to use sidebar navigation.
Please use the Check for Updates function to update your software to the latest version.
What’s in the Release
General Items
– As part of regular maintenance we regularly update the platform SDK (Microsoft’s Software Development Kit). It has been updated to 2026 and tested. However, if you experience any (new) problems,please let support know.
– The Preferences dialog has been updated to a multi-page sidebar style dialog from a tabbed dialog.
Page View and HTML
– Added !important processing to CSS shorthand reading.
– Added a number of CSS properties to the load and write of CSS data
– The inline style (Declaration Editor) has been changed to a sidebar style dialog to improve the editing and access to CSS properties
– Added value keywords anchor-size, fit-content, max-content, min-content and stretch to the width properties. Note that these do not get processed for display.
– Corrected an issue with the Line Style field on the Font Style page where typing in the value would result in a program exception.
XBRL View
– Corrected an issue that would cause the software to recreate the standard SPAC presentations instead of using the pre-existing presentation linkbase.
XDX
– When processing a numeric fact that contains tags that cannot be included within the fact content the resulting tagged content should be the first numeric content encountered.
– Corrected an issue that could cause a tag stacking issue with many nested inline facts.
– Corrected an issue that could application instability in a report with many inline labels for custom members.
– Corrected an issue that would cause the software to recreate the standard SPAC presentations instead of using the pre-existing presentation linkbase.
– Corrected an issue that occurred when creating extensible lists that could cause software instability if the library was not loaded before selecting the element for the Extensible List.
– Corrected an issue with the Prospectus Wizard where the wizard would not detect series/class relationships unless the series and classes were entered into the application Series/Class Library.
– The row and column context engrams should now contain the date of the report for OEF-RR filings.
SEC Taxonomy Changes and Updates
– Updated the SPAC taxonomy to 2025Q3.
– Corrected an issue where the “US-GAAP 2025 w/CEF” taxonomy template was importing incorrect/invalid schemas.
General EDGAR Updates
– Updated to EDGAR 25.4.
– The Novaworks Mail Service (NMS) will be discontinued. Due to the availability of the SEC’s accession notice API the need for this service has diminished. Only the separate service executable is being retired; the Get Mail function within the application is unchanged.
– NMS has been removed from the “NSS Dashboard”.
– Corrected an issue that could cause instability if a project that contains project preferences create before EDGAR Next was opened.
– Corrected an issue with the Series/Class Library that could cause changes not to be saved when removing entries before adding new ones.
– Corrected an issue with the Series/Class Library that could cause the lookup to not clear previous results.
– Corrected an issue with the translation of the SEC CUSIP PDF for the fourth quarter of 2025. Users should use the rebuild option to ensure the list properly created.
Form 13F and SHO Updates
– Hitting “Rebuild” on the CUSIP list with no PDF location will attempt to automatically fill the PDF location using the list published by the SEC.
– Added support for Send to EDGARLink online.
Form 144 Updates
– Corrected an issue that prevented the Send to EDGARLink Online function from navigating to the Form 144 editor.
N-CEN Updates
– Corrected an issue that prevented item C.22.a.iii from displaying on the proof.
N-PX Updates
– The proof for N-PX/A, N-PX CTR and N-PX CTR/A have been updated to reflect the form type in the title of sections as well as the description in the header.
SCHEDULE 13D/G Updates
– Send to EDGARLink Online will now navigate to the online XML forms instead of to the EDGARLink forms.
Technical Notes (Legato)
– Reorganized the INI, Application Preferences and Registry documentation to help clarify operation and applicable use of the related API functions.
– Corrected an internal error message with regard to the return statement, with a returned literal value, without the ending semicolon. This would result in an internal error message when a run time error message should have been generated.
– Corrected an issue with the EDGARNextMakeAPICall function that would cause the supplied headers to not be added to the request.
– Added a new function SetPreference to set a single preference and optionally retain the setting.
