On July 14th, the SEC announced that Form N-MFP Data Sets are now available for filers to download and that monthly updates will resume immediately. The monthly data sets previously were paused to update for Form N-MFP3 submissions. Form N-MFP is used for monthly reports of money market funds that report data pertaining to the fund and its portfolio holdings for the previous month.
The data sets are extracted from the eXtensible Markup Language (XML) Form N-MFP submissions. XML is a machine-readable, structured data format. The data is presented without change from the “as-filed” submissions and is presented in a flat file format to provide the public with readily available data from registrants.
The Form N-MFP Data Sets and other freely available data sets are accessible in the Data Library created by the Division of Economic and Risk Analysis (DERA). The DERA Data Library provides the public with a central reference location to access all available data sets.
