The SEC has provided guidance on how to prepare and submit Inline XBRL filing fee exhibits (EX-FILING FEES) to the EDGAR system. This guidance is provided in accordance with the SEC’s Filing Fee Disclosure and Payment Methods Modernization rule, adopted in October 2021. As a reminder, GoFiler already provides a new filing fee disclosure preparation tool.
Filers are reminded of the following important dates:
- Jan. 31, 2024 — filers are permitted voluntarily to file fee data in Inline XBRL format
- July 31, 2024 — large accelerated filers are required to submit fee data in Inline XBRL format
- July 31, 2025 — compliance is required by all filers, including certain investment companies that file registrations on Forms N-2 and N-14
This guidance on Inline XBRL Filing Fee Exhibit is the latest topic addressed on the EDGAR—How Do I... webpage on sec.gov. The topics featured on the webpage are designed to help filers understand the EDGAR system and are not definitive resources or a substitute for the EDGAR Filer Manual. Filers are advised to refer the EDGAR Filer Manual prior to making any filings with EDGAR.
To try the new filing fee disclosure preparation tool in GoFiler, simply update to the latest version (5.21b). Please note that this tool is currently in beta and should not be used to submit live filings at this time. For more information, please contact support.
