Chapter Six — File Functions (continued)
Overview
The IsSamePath function tests if two paths with different filenames are in the same location.
Syntax/Parameters
Syntax
boolean = IsSamePath ( string a, string b );
Parameters
a b
A string containing a filename with a fully qualified path.
Return Value
Returns TRUE if name1 and name2 exist in the same location or FALSE if they do not.
Remarks
An empty string does not count as a path. If the raw test of paths is false, the source strings will be tested as basic paths (no filename with no trailing delimiter) and the test will be repeated. Therefore, if:
A — X:\My Files\List 1
B — X:\My Files\List 1\File A.txt
If the actual path A does not exist, the function will fail since path A is ambiguous.
Short paths names (8.3) compared to long path names are not allowed.
