EDGARArchiveGetDocName Function
Overview
The EDGARArchiveGetDocName function retrieves the document name as filed or created by the EDGAR system.
Syntax/Parameters
Syntax
string = EDGARArchiveGetDocName ( handle hArchive, int index );
Parameters
hArchive
A handle that specifies the EDGAR Archive opened with EDGARArchiveOpen function.
index
An integer specifying a file entry in the mapped object.
Return Value
A string containing the filename. If an error occurs, the returned string will be empty. Use the GetLastError function to retrieve error details.
Remarks
The EDGAR XML specification sets a limit of 32 characters for this field. For older archives (1999 and earlier), this function may return an empty string since documents were not named prior to the Modernized EDGAR System.
The name (filename) will always have a limited set of extensions. See section 5.1.1 File Naming Standards of the the SEC EDGAR Filer Manual.
