Chapter Fifteen — Windows/OS Functions (continued)
Overview
The IsWindowHandleValid function tests a handle as being a valid window handle.
Syntax/Parameters
Syntax
boolean = IsWindowHandleValid ( handle hWindow );
Parameters
hWindow
A handle representing a window.
Return Value
A boolean as TRUE (1) or FALSE (0) depending on the validity of the handle.
Remarks
Window handle values are managed by the operating system. The handle valid is unique but could be reused as windows are repeatedly created and destroyed. While not likely, if a handle value is held for an extended period of time the handle could become invalid and then valid again while representing another window.
