Chapter Eleven — SGML Functions (continued)
FieldGetFieldProperties Function
Overview
The FieldGetFieldProperties function returns an array of all field properties including meta data.
Syntax/Parameters
Syntax
string[] = FieldGetFieldProperties ( handle hField );
Parameters
hField
A handle to a Field Object.
Return Value
A string array containing field parameters or an empty array on failure. Use the GetLastError function to retrieve a formatted error code.
Remarks
FieldGetFieldProperties consolidates a number of functions and returns the data as an array.
Similar to the FieldGetParameters function, the FieldGetFieldProperties returns the parameters and also the following meta data:
Key Name | Description | |||
[Field] | Field name (if a well known field name, otherwise it will appear as a parameter “Field”).
[s_x] | File position in zero-based decimal.
[s_y] | File position in zero-based decimal.
[e_x] | File position in zero-based decimal.
[e_y] | File position in zero-based decimal.
[token] | Field name token value in hexadecimal.
[result] | Parse result value in hexadecimal. |
Note that because of the meta data, this array cannot simply be applied to the FieldFromParameters function.
