ComboBoxGetSelectString Function
Overview
The ComboBoxGetSelectString function retrieves the current selection within the list box portion of a combo box, if available. While this function works on all combo box styles, it is meant to work with the CBS_DROPDOWNLIST style.
Syntax/Parameters
Syntax
int = ComboBoxGetSelectString ( int id );
Parameters
id
An int containing the control ID of a combo box.
Return Value
Returns a string containing a copy of the currently selected item or empty if no item is selected or on error. Common error responses are as follows: ERROR_RANGE if id is an invalid control ID for the open dialog or ERROR_INVALID_HANDLE if no dialog is open. Use the GetLastError function to retrieve error information.
Remarks
Multiple selection mode is not supported for combo boxes. Combo box controls do not enforce unique strings.
