Overview
The MD5FinishDigest function completes the process of creating an MD5 digest and returns the has code as a string.
Syntax/Parameters
Syntax
string = MD5FinishDigest ( handle hMD5 );
Parameters
hMD5
A handle created by MD5NewDigest. This handle will automatically be close and the handle value will no longer be valid.
Return Value
Returns a string containing hexadecimal representation of a 16 byte MD5 hash. If an error occurs the string will be empty. Use the GetLastError function to retrieve the error code.
Remarks
The hex output is in lower case but can be converted to upper using the MakeUpperCase function.
Example:
string = MD5FinishDigest(hMD5);
yields a string such as:
9e107d9d372bb6826bd81d3542a419d6
The resulting string can be further formatted as required.
