Overview
The IsNil function tests if a string or character contains a nil value. Nil is an accounting term that indicates a value is not applicable or appreciable.
Syntax/Parameters
Syntax
boolean = IsNil ( char data | string data );
Parameters
value
A string or a char to value test. The character can be any type that will resolve to an integer.
Return Value
Returns TRUE if value is a nil value or FALSE if it is not.
Remarks
The following characters or strings are considered nil:

— | Em dash | — | Single em dash | ||
-- | Double dash | ||||
--- | Triple dash |
If value is a string, any word spaces prior to the nil value are ignored.
